Ghadolar - Saint Gregory of Narek (Surb Grigor Narekatsi)

Saint Gregory of Narek (Surb Grigor Narekatsi) church: was built in 1868. The church building was made of stones and covered with wood⁴⁹.

The church was hit by the earthquake on December 19, 1899^50. In 1903, the church was in such a condition, that the village was included in the list of settlements in the province which did not have a church⁵¹. It is still standing. The external dimensions are: 17.35 x 10.18 m.

The inscription on the lintel of the entrance door, four lines:

THE CHURCH OF GHATOLAR / BUILT IN 1868 AND NAMED SAINT GERGORY OF NAREK.

Remains of the medieval village and the church (external dimensions: 6.81 x 4.36) are preserved in the northern part of the village of Ghadolar. During the recent years, the church was partially repaired with the efforts of the local residents.
