Solo Exhibition Titled “In My Soul...”

On November 1, 2025, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center hosted the opening of a solo exhibition by Javakhk-based artist Hazkert Kirakosyan.

The walls of the center were adorned with the artist’s oil paintings and graphic works, skillfully crafted images reflecting the beauty of his homeland’s nature, inner reflections, and diverse perceptions.

The exhibition was personally attended by the artist himself, Hazkert Kirakosyan, a distinguished jeweler who returned to painting and fine art after a 40-year break.

The event brought together artists, painters, designers, representatives of various nationalities, and young creators.

Opening the exhibition, Eugenia Markosyan, Director of the Hayartun Center, highlighted Hazkert Kirakosyan’s invaluable work in adorning the walls of the 19th-century St. Vardanants Church in his native village of Dilif, Ninotsminda region, with frescoes. She noted that this sacred endeavor became a source of inspiration for the artist, motivating him to return to painting as a means of expressing his inner spirituality. Today, with numerous canvases in his studio, landscapes, portraits, and imaginative compositions, the artist has chosen to title his solo exhibition with the evocative name “In My Soul...”

Painter Mayis Kirakosyan and Vrastan (Georgia) newspaper editor Van Bayburtyan spoke about the artist’s works and his return to painting.

Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, conveying the blessing and good wishes of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, emphasized in his speech the artist’s message expressed through his brushstrokes and rich color palette, especially the paintings reflecting his vision of the horrors of war and the deep longing for peace.

Exhibitions of Hazkert Kirakosyan’s paintings will continue in the future, contributing to the wider recognition of his works. The solo exhibition “In My Soul...” will remain open at the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia until November 15.
