Order of Burial of Christ in Armenian Churches in Tbilisi

On April 3, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi and Holy Etchmiadzin Church in Avlabari, with the blessing and under the presidency of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the Burial Service was held during the forefeast rite following the evening service. The symbolic Tomb of Jesus Christ was carried around the church and sprinkled with rosewater before the faithful. At the end of the ceremony, the faithful passed beneath the Tomb, seeking the Lord’s blessing and healing.

At the conclusion of the service, the fragrant flowers from the Lord’s Holy Tomb were distributed to the faithful.
