Divine Liturgy on Feast of Naming of Our Lord Jesus Christ
On January 13, 2026, with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Rev. Father Virap Ghazaryan, at the Cathedral of St. George in Tbilisi. The Divine Liturgy was dedicated to the Feast of the Naming of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the celebrant priest delivered a sermon appropriate to the spiritual meaning of the day. According to Jewish law, on the eighth day after His birth, Jesus, like every newborn male child, was circumcised and given His name.
On this day, Divine Liturgy was celebrated in all Armenian churches, and on the previous evening, following the conclusion of the evening service, the pre-feast ceremony was performed.
