Washing of Feet Service and Blessing of Oil at Armenian Churches in Tbilisi

On April 17, 2025, on Holy Thursday, the Washing of the Feet Service was offered in Christian churches. After the Last Supper, Christ, setting an example of true humility and meekness, washed the feet of His disciples. Following the example of the Lord, the clergy of the Diocese, with the singing of hymns, offered the Washing of the Feet Service at the altar on their knees and anointed feet with blessed oil.

At the Cathedral of Saint George in Tbilisi, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, offered the Washing of the Feet Service, washing the feet of the clergy, servers, and attendants of the church, and anointing them with blessed oil.

After the ceremony, the blessed oil was distributed to the faithful. With the same humility, the Washing of the Feet Service was offered at the Saint Etchmiadzin church in Avlabari by Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, the church's spiritual servant.
