Sunday Divine Liturgy St. George Cathedral of Armenian Diocese in Georgia

On March 1, 2026, at the Cathedral of St. George of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, under the presidency of His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the Divine Liturgy of the second Sunday of Great Lent was celebrated by Rev. Father Husik Harutyunyan.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, under the presidency of the Diocesan Primate, a Requiem Service was conducted for the repose of the souls of the innocent victims of the Sumgait pogroms.

At the end, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan reflected on the Sunday of the Prodigal Son and delivered an appropriate sermon on the meaning of the day. He concluded his message by urging the faithful, following the example of the prodigal son, to turn away from wrongdoing in time, to repent, and to seek God’s forgiveness. For God is almighty and merciful, ever ready to forgive and to receive His children.
