Participation of Armenian Church Clergy in Funeral of Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgian Orthodox Church
On Sunday, March 22, senior clergy of the Armenian Church took part in the funeral service of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
His Grace Bishop Tatev Hakobyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Romania, by the order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, represented the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin at the funeral ceremony. Accompanied by His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, he conveyed to the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church the condolences and prayerful sympathy of the Catholicos of All Armenians on the passing of the head of the sister Christian Church, praying that the soul of the departed rest in the light of Almighty God.
