Exhibition-sale of handicrafts

On March 2, 2024, the "House of Hovhannes Tumanyan" Center for Science and Culture gladly hosted the students of the "Hobby House" studio in Shulaveri, Marneuli region of Georgia, under the guidance of teacher Marina Tsikarishvili. They brought their handicrafts, which were varied: embroidery, tapestry, dolls, pottery, thread weaving, etc. All of that represented the result of the imagination, visual thinking, creating, and ability to notice the beauty of Armenian girls aged 10-17.

Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, spiritual superintendent of the Center, highly appreciated the opening of the exhibition and conveyed blessings and good wishes of the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan. In his speech of appreciation, Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan valued the opportunity to pass on the knowledge of traditional handicrafts to the generations, develop imaginative thinking, and implement this knowledge in the future. He also congratulated those present on the eve of Mother's Day celebrated in Georgia.

Established in 2015, "Hobby House" studio is a member of the Georgian Traditional Handicraft Association, has been exhibited in the Republic of Armenia and a number of foreign countries, as well as has actively participated in high-level exhibitions organized in Georgia, and has received many awards.

Studio members gifted the puppet model of the "Dog and Cat" legend they made by themselves to the "House of Hovhannes Tumanyan" Center.

Watching the exhibition, the attendees expressed their admiration for doctor-gynecologist Marine Tsikarishvili for sharing the creativity, secrets, and craftsmanship of traditional handwork with teenagers.
