End-of-Year Event: New Year’s Festive Celebration

On December 26, 2025, the New Year’s festive celebration of the Diocesan “St. Moses of Khoren” (Surb Movses Khorenatsi) Preschool took place in the Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. Thanks to the dedication and creativity of the preschool’s teachers and parents, the hall was beautifully decorated and transformed into a true winter wonderland. Dressed in costumes resembling animals and fir trees, the preschool children eagerly awaited Santa Claus, who was to arrive with gifts and announce the beginning of the New Year, 2026. Before that, however, the children had to earn his praise through their beautiful and joyful performances.

Taking their seats in the festively decorated hall were Rev. Father Kirakos Simonyan, Rev. Father Hovsep Harutyunyan, Diocesan staff members, as well as the children’s parents, grandparents, and relatives.

After the Lord’s Prayer, Head of the Education Department of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia and Director of the “Hayartun” Center, Eugenia Markosyan, conveyed the blessing and good wishes of the Diocesan Primate, His Grace Bishop Kirakos Davtyan. She highlighted the Primate’s care and attention toward the preschool and its pupils and expressed words of appreciation to all parents who chose an Armenian kindergarten and the Armenian upbringing of their children.

This was followed by a succession of the children’s Armenian speech, joyful songs and dances, recitations, and riddles. The children’s confident behavior, clear pronunciation, and graceful singing and dancing testified that the preschool has chosen the right path in its educational work.

Particularly impressive was the staging of the fairy tale “The Little Palace” (“Palatik”) performed by the children. Through lively play and characters representing various animals, the performance beautifully conveyed friendship, companionship, and the joy of welcoming the New Year in a warm and cheerful spirit.

The surprise appearance of Santa Claus, who could not hide his delight with the children’s performances, added to the festive spirit. Encouraging the children for their wonderful acting and presentations, he delighted them with New Year gifts.

The teaching staff, parents, and pupils of the Diocese of the Armenian Church in Georgia’s “St. Moses of Khoren” Preschool said goodbye to 2025 in a festive spirit, looking forward to welcoming the New Year 2026 with renewed energy, optimism, and high spirits.
