REVEREND FATHER ARCHPRIEST YEGHIA TAZAYAN

Ter EgyaReverend Father Archpriest Yeghia Tazayan (baptismal name is Aleqsan) was born on January 5, 1957 in Orojalar village of Bogdanovka region, Georgia.

From 1964 to 1974, Archpriest Yeghia Tazayan studied at the local secondary school in Orojalar village of Bogdanovka region, Georgia.

From 1974-1977, Rev. Fr. Yeghia Tazayan studied at the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovian, Yerevan, Armenia.

 From 1977 to 1982, Archpriest Yeghia studied at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin.

In 1983, he was consecrated as a secular (married) priest by His Eminence Archbishop Gevorg Seraidaryan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, and given the priestly name of Yeghia.

After his consecration as a secular (married) priest, Rev. Fr. Yeghia Tazayan was appointed to serve at St. Echmiadzin Church in Tbilisi, Georgia.

From 1984 to 1993, Archpriest Yeghia Tazayan served at St. Sargis Church in Stepanavan, Armenian.

In 1993, by the order of His Holiness Vazgen I, Catholicos of All Armenians, was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia as the Spiritual Pastor of St. Sargis Church in Ninotsminda Georgia.

On August 1, 2003, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Archpriest Tazayan was reappointed as the Spiritual Pastor of St. Sargis Church in Ninotsminda, Georgia.

On June 1, 2007, Archpriest Yeghia was appointed to serve in the Armenian communities in Tsalka and Tetri-Tsqaro regions, Georgia, as the Spiritual Pastor.

On May 1, 2008, Rev. Fr. Tazayan was appointed to serve at Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church in Damala Village of Aspindza Region, Georgia, as the Spiritual Pastor.

On September 1, 2009, Rev. Fr. Yeghia was appointed to serve in the Armenian communities in Gandza, Foka, Parvana, Nor-Khulzumo, Tambovka, Aspara, Vladimirovka, Saghamo villages of Ninotsminda region, Georgia, as the Spiritual Pastor.

On November 12, 2012, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Archpriest Tazayan was reappointed at the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka as the Pastor of the Armenian communities in Damala Village in Aspindza Region, under the authority and supervision of the Vicar General of the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka, Georgia.
