REVEREND FATHER GEVORG ASATRYAN

Reverend Father Gevorg Asatryan (baptismal name is Garush) was born on January 31, 1981, in Khorok village, Armavir region, Armenia.

From 1991 to 2001, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan studied at the local secondary school in Khorok village, in Armavir region, Armenia.

Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan served two years in the Arm Forces of Republic of Armenia as a civilian.

From 2002 to 2008, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan studied at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

On December 25, 2006, he was ordained a deacon by His Grace Bishop Ararat Galtagchyan and was appointed to serve at the Department of Economics of Mother See of Holy Echmiadzin as the Assistant of Economist.

From 2009 to 2012, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the N Military Unite of the Arm Forces of Nagorno-Karabakh as the Chaplin.

From 2012 to 2018, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavir as the Pastor of St .Astvatsamayr (Holy Mother of God) Church in Artimet and as the Visiting Pastor of Aratashen villages of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Armavi.

On June 10, 2018, he was consecrated and ordained as a secular (married) priest by His Grace Bishop Tatev Hakobyan in St. Gregory the Illuminator Mother Cathedral of Yerevan, Armenia, and given the priestly name of Gevorg.

On July 30, 2018, by the order of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, under the authority and supervision of the Primate of the Diocese.

In 2018, by the order of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakanyan, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia, Rev. Fr. Gevorg Asatryan was appointed to serve at the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka as the Pastor of St. Karapet Church of Ganza and as the Visiting Pastor of Ninotsminda region, under the authority and supervision of the Vicar General of the Vicariate of Samtskhe-Javakheti and Tsalka, Georgia.
